Note: the Board of Education must adopt the District-wide School Safety Plan & Building-level Emergency Response Plans prior to September 1st of each school year, following the 30-day public comment period. It is anticipated that the final plans will be approved at the August 25, 2026, Board of Education meeting.
SSHEL Responses
In the event of an emergency, school officials may take action to safeguard students. Known as SSHEL responses, the actions that may be taken are as follows:
BEARS Protocol
BEARS is an acronym for actions that can be taken during a Lockdown in order to increase survivability during an active threat inside our building.
